Latest feature release includes improved shot editing, Smart distances & more

  • Arccos Dashboard, Game Improvement, performance tracking

Arccos is excited to announce the release of the latest version of its app, which features improved shot editing, better phone battery life and a more accurate look at club distances.

Here's a deeper look at the features included in the release of Arccos version 1.4:

Shot Editing: Users will experience a much improved and more intuitive shot-editing experience in-round and out. Users can now add, delete, edit or move shots with ease upon entering the “edit” screen for each hole.

Putt Editing: Golfers can easily account for their gimme putts with an easy-to-use plus-minus option on each and every hole screen.

Flagstick/Putting Distance: For more accurate putting distance and statistics, users can now edit the location of the first putt and the flagstick on each and every hole. Note that the Arccos' Tour Analytics counts the distance of the first putt only on each hole. Flag placement will also be carried over to approach and chipping stats.

Smart Distance: Improving on the average distances Arccos users have come to rely on, we present improved distance expectancies for each club, including a Smart Range, which gives golfers a better idea of how far average shots with each club will travel. Improved Battery Life: Golfers will notice an improvement in battery consumption due to the app’s ability to work in the background.

Search Improvements: Searching for a course or a fellow golfer on the Arccos social platform becomes easier through the implementation of improved search algorithms.

Arccos users will also notice minor changes in the design and interface with the 1.4 release. For tips on how to edit, add, delete and move shots on Arccos Golf 1.4, please view the following tutorial videos.

  • I wish that this had the option of adding people in your foursomes scores. Other than that I like the product.

  • Love the product although I wish I would have watched the videos before I played today. I just got back from a business trip and went to the course and noticed the new features. I love how long the battery life on my phone is now thanks to the update. I also appreciate the putting updates. It will take me a lot less time on the course editing these. The only request I would ask for is partner tracking. I don’t want to input his distances but hole by hole score and putts would be nice. Other apps have that and it is nice not to worry about tracking yourself on this app and then writing down everyone’s score on the scorecard. Just seems like an easy fix to do on here. Keep up the great work. My index has dropped from a 25 to a 12.8 since I purchased this over a year ago.

  • Glad to see that I can now mark pin placement. That will significantly improve the value of the stats on approaches and putts. I wish that that I could just walk to the pin and touch a “Mark Pin” button rather than dragging the flag to a position.
Also, I hope future updates will include a comment section for a hole and the round. Then I could identify a driver or ball type used, weather conditions, tournament or practice round, course conditions (aeration), etc. to be saved under the round information.
I also suggest that the app generate a USGA based index, and provide a handicap for the course.
Lastly, I think it would be nice to somehow be able to see the distance to the pin along with the distance of the previous shot. For example, the course map could show a shot and indicate 9i 250/150. Tis would indicate that the last shot was 250, and that I used a 9i when the distance to the pin was 150 yards.
    Love the product and thanks
