Purchasing and Production Planning Manager

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing and Production Planning Manager to ensure the materials, suppliers and production schedules behind our hardware products are aligned with business demand. This role will lead procurement, planning, expediting and delivery across components and finished goods, while supporting day-to-day production and new-product introductions with manufacturing partners in the U.S., China and the Philippines.

What You'll Do

Lead material procurement, supplier management, production scheduling and cost modelling across components and finished goods.
Create and maintain Clear-to-Build analysis, identifying shortages, risks and mitigation plans to keep current production and new-product launches on schedule.
Issue and manage purchase orders from component level through finished goods, ensuring commitments, lead times and delivery dates remain accurate.
Build factory forecasts, production plans and inventory projections based on sales forecasts across multiple SKUs.
Develop tools and reporting that make costs, lead times, availability and production blockages visible and actionable.
Work closely with contract manufacturers, Operations leaders and Engineering to assess component alternatives and secure approval when supply risks emerge.
Monitor long-lead-time components, global availability trends and cost fluctuations to shape ordering strategies and reduce supply exposure.
Manage relationships with electronics suppliers and distributors, including key partners such as Arrow, to improve supply continuity, pricing and responsiveness.
Support Bills of Materials, Engineering Change Notes, supply agreements and the planning requirements of electro-mechanical products.
Coordinate the flow of bulk shipments from factories to 3PL partners and support related freight, customs and shipping requirements.
Use AI and automation where practical to improve planning, analysis and operational reporting.

Who You Are

You have at least seven years of relevant experience in purchasing, production planning, supply-chain management or a closely related discipline.
You have worked for a company that develops and sells hardware products, ideally within the electronics or electro-mechanical market.
You can forecast and plan multiple SKUs across short- and long-term horizons and translate sales demand into executable build plans.
You have hands-on experience working with domestic and international factories, suppliers and contract manufacturers.
You understand Bills of Materials, purchase orders, component lead times, Engineering Change Notes and production-planning tools.
You are comfortable managing supply constraints, expediting material and making sound decisions when information is incomplete.
You communicate clearly, build strong supplier relationships and are willing to engage directly rather than rely only on email or messaging.
You take ownership, exercise strong judgment, move with purpose and simplify complex operational problems.
You bring a growth mindset and are motivated by the mission and customer impact of the work.

Bonus Points

An established network of contacts across leading electronics suppliers and distributors.
Experience negotiating or administering supply agreements.
Working knowledge of freight carriers, international customs and bulk factory-to-3PL shipments.
Experience with customer orders, ASNs, shipping delays and international fulfilment processes.
Proficiency with AI tools used to streamline forecasting, reporting or supply-chain analysis.
