Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and data-driven VP of Marketing to lead our marketing strategy as we embark on our next phase of growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in scaling up B2C and D2C products, leading high-performing marketing teams, and implementing innovative marketing initiatives. In this role, you will oversee cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies for product and feature launches. You will be instrumental in driving brand awareness, ensuring a cohesive omni-channel marketing approach, and fostering a culture of data-driven high-velocity experimentation.
This role will also be responsible for implementing and operationalizing modern AI-driven marketing systems, including content automation, predictive audience modeling, media mix optimization, and customer lifecycle personalization, and for building a marketing engine that leverages AI to drive measurable efficiency gains, lower CAC, and increase customer lifetime value across all channels.
This person will be a senior leader and help drive forward companywide priorities, all the while building an exceptionally well-rounded and highly functional team of people who are passionate about having a huge impact on our company and our customers every day. Qualified candidates must bring significant experience, perspective and demonstrated success leading and enhancing marketing teams across multiple locations. Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Marketing Strategies:
- Create marketing strategies to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention.
- Oversee performance marketing campaigns across various channels including SEM, paid social, display advertising, influencer marketing, and affiliate marketing.
- Drive channel-specific CAC and LTV targets, build forecast models, and optimize media allocation based on payback windows and customer economics, in close partnership with Finance and Leadership.
- Drive organic growth through content strategies, partnerships, mobile/website optimization.
- Develop social media marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and community building.
- Refine persona frameworks using both qualitative insights and AI-driven and segmentation models to inform creative, messaging, product positioning, and acquisition strategy.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals to achieve key performance indicators and business objectives.
- Create a culture of data-driven high-velocity experimentation to drive the customer lifecycle.
- Build out and manage the marketing team as needed, ensuring optimal resource allocation for marketing outcomes.
- Up-level team capabilities around AI tools, data literacy, and modern performance measurement so that the marketing organization becomes a highly technical, automation-enabled growth engine.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with product and design teams to launch and optimize user acquisition funnels and improve conversion rates. This includes overseeing e-commerce pages and storefront.
- Work with the product team to create proper go-to-market launches to drive product and feature adoption
- Manage stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams including, product management, UX, strategy and external agencies.
- Partner closely with data, product, and engineering teams to ensure customer data pipelines support personas, predictive modeling, experimentation, and multi-touch attribution.
- Brand and Market Management:
- Drive global marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and market expansion.
- Lead influencer marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness in key global markets.
- Manage brand reputation and ensure consistent messaging and brand voice across channels.
- Lead brand management initiatives to enhance the brand's perception and market positioning.
- Implement AI-assisted social listening and sentiment analysis to identify emerging themes, fan behavior, and competitive shifts that can inform both brand and performance strategy.
- Analytics and Optimization:
- Establish and maintain robust marketing analytics, attribution, and reporting frameworks.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and user insights to identify growth opportunities and optimize marketing strategies.
- Implement strategies to measure and track brand performance, sentiment, and awareness.
- Manage marketing budgets effectively to maximize ROI and achieve business goals.
- Own end-to-end measurement of CAC, LTV, retention, and payback by channel; develop dashboards that connect spend to business outcomes and forecasted subscription revenue.
- Build and continuously improve a multi-touch attribution model, leveraging AI and machine learning to improve signal quality and media efficiency across paid and organic channels.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of overall marketing experience in a fast-paced, consumer-focused environment.
- 6+ years of experience in leading and managing high-performing marketing teams.
- Proven track record of successfully scaling up B2C products and driving substantial growth.
- Strong judgment on creative quality and positioning to drive virality and organic engagement.
- Deep expertise in performance marketing including SEM, paid social, display advertising, and affiliate marketing.
- Experience in developing and executing social media marketing campaigns across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
- Experience with influencer marketing strategies and proven success in collaborating with influencers to drive brand awareness and engagement.
- Highly analytical with a data-driven mindset, capable of developing and determining marketing metrics, user behavior, and market trends to optimize campaigns.
- Significant experience selecting, implementing, and operating AI marketing technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a passion for mentoring and developing teams.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
- Prior ownership of CAC, LTV, and full-funnel economics at a subscription or D2C company, with a track record of materially improving unit economics by channel.
- Comfort leading technical marketing teams (growth operations, analytics, and automation) and working closely with data engineers and product teams.
