Perhaps the best thing about the ever-growing Arccos community is the amount of golf it plays. To date, we've had millions upon millions of shots recorded and enough rounds played to provide our team of experts a lifetime of data to sort through.

A portion of those rounds have been played at legendary Oakmont Country Club, site of the 2016 U.S. Open. Hosting its ninth U.S. Open, Oakmont has been known to take down even the game's best. Heck, the last time it hosted an Open -- in 2007 -- the winning score was 5-over.

The story heading into the season's second major is the course's difficulty. Knowing just how tough it'll play for the field, we decided to examine the play of the Arccos community and how it has fared against Oakmont and its church pews, brutal rough and lightning fast greens.

Spoiler alert: there are some good players in the Arccos community...

Below is an examination of each hole at Oakmont as played by Arccos users. We've also included how each hole was played in the 2007 U.S. Open.

Interestingly enough, Arccos golfers have outplayed the 2007 scoring average on four of Oakmont's holes -- the par-5 3rd, par-3 13th, par-4 14th and No. 17, a short par-4.

The average score for the Arccos community on Oakmont's 7,254-yard, par-70 layout was 14-over 84 with the front nine (43) proving tougher than the inward nine (41). Compared to some of the game's other iconic courses we've examined over the past year -- including TPC Sawgrass, Doral's Blue Monster and Pebble Beach -- the community's performance at Oakmont has been easily been its most impressive. Credit to those Arccos users who have braved rugged Oakmont and lived to tell about it!
