Arccos Announces Partnership with DICK’S Sporting Goods Allowing Golfers to Transform Their Clubs into a Smart Set

STAMFORD, Conn., July 24, 2019  Arccos – the pioneer of big data and artificial intelligence for golf – today announced a partnership with DICK’S Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS) to launch Arccos Caddie Smart Grip models from Golf Pride and Lamkin Golf, and provide a streamlined framework for consumers to turn their existing or new clubs into a “smart set.”

The latest Arccos Caddie Smart Grips offerings – including Tour Velvet and MCC Plus4 from Golf Pride, as well as Crossline 360 and UTx from Lamkin – will be sold at select DICK’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy locations nationwide (see below). Consumers will now have the option to purchase any combination of Arccos Caddie Smart Grips and Smart Sensors for $5 per sensor (14 sensors required), plus the grips cost. Purchasers then receive a 90-day trial prior to start of an annual subscription.

“We believe in the power of data science in retail to drive performance, and the same is true when it comes to our customers’ golf games,” said Edward W. Stack, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DICK’S Sporting Goods. “That is why we are partnering with Arccos known as one of the most innovative companies in golf. Together, Dick’s and Arccos will provide golfers nationwide insights into their game so that they improve faster than ever before to reach their full potential.”

Winner of the Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Award in 2017, 2018 and 2019, the Arccos Caddie platform automatically tracks and analyzes a user’s on-course performance via the sensors and a smartphone app. It then deploys artificial intelligence, developed in partnership with Microsoft, to show users their optimal strategy and predicted outcome for every shot on any hole in the world. This is calculated based on an individual’s shot history, other users’ performance, wind speed & direction, elevation changes, hole geometry, hazard locations and more.

“The breadth and depth of retail expertise that DICK’S Sporting Goods brings to the table is second-to-none in golf,” said Sal Syed, Arccos CEO and Co-Founder. “It’s the ideal partner for us as we steer a paradigm shift in how players use data and A.I. to practice and perform better. We’re thrilled to have this key relationship join the ranks of Arccos’ pioneering partnerships with Cobra Puma Golf, PING and Microsoft.”

Listed among the World’s Most Innovative Companies 2018” by Fast Company, ranking #3 in the Sports category globally, Arccos boasts the golf industry’s richest data set. This includes nearly 200 million shots hit during more than 2 million rounds played by the Arccos community, and over 500 million GPS mapping data points on 40,000+ courses worldwide.

In 2018, Arccos and Cobra launched golf’s first smart set, Cobra Connect Powered by Arccos. As part of this ongoing collaboration, every club in the Cobra KING F8 line and new KING F9 line features an Arccos sensor embedded in the grip. This helps players improve faster by automatically tracking and receiving actionable insights for every aspect of their game. PING also offer users of its clubs the opportunity to directly access the Arccos Caddie ecosystem.
